Formerly a member of the Edgar Winter Group, Dan Hartman launched a solo career in 1976. He finally broke through 2 years later with the funky disco smash "Instant Replay". He penned and produced  the song himself. It was a Dance Chart #1 in the US. Hartman died in 1994 of an AIDS-related brain tumour.
