#804 AIN'T NO STOPPING US NOW McFadden & Whitehead
Gene McFadden and John Whitehead first met as schoolchildren in Philadelphia. As teenagers, they were members of The Epsilons. Otis Redding managed the group until his tragic death. The band recorded for the Stax label.  Soon after the 2 friends began co-writing hits for other acts on Philadelphia International, including: "992 Arguments", "Backstabbers" (The O'Jays); "Bad Luck", "Wake Up Everybody" and "Where Are All My Friends" (for Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes). Finally, in 1979, the duo released an album in their own right. This release contained the hit single "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now", a track McFadden & Whitehead co-wrote and co-produced with Jerry Cohen. Sadly, this was to be their only chart appearance.
