Tom Petty cemented his place among America's best songwriters with the defiant song "I Won't Back Down". He penned the song with ELO's Jeff Lynne. It was included on the former's 1989 album 'Full Moon Fever'.
The empowering track was written following a period of adversity for Petty and is regarded as one of his signature songs.
