As more countries wished to
participate in the Eurovision Song
Contest, Semi-Finals became necessary by 1993 in order to limit the duration of
the Grand Final. This countdown looks back on 45 culled – but worthy- entries
that failed to progress from a Semi-Final and therefore missed out on competing
in the Grand Final:

2009 SLOVENIA
Semi-Final 2 had Slovenia battling for a slot in the 2009 Grand Final against 18 other nations in Semi-Final 2. Fusing classical music with dance, the song "Love Symphony" was performed by Quartissimo and vocalist Martina. The exciting confluence deserved to fare better than its 16th place.
