THE TOP
EUROVISION SONGS
THAT FAILED TO QUALIFY
 AT THE SEMI-FINALS
As more countries wished to participate in the  Eurovision Song Contest, Semi-Finals became necessary by 1993 in order to limit the duration of the Grand Final. This countdown looks back on 45 culled – but worthy- entries that failed to progress from a Semi-Final and therefore missed out on competing in the Grand Final:

IF I HAD YOUR LOVE
SELMA
2005 ICELAND
The 2005 Semi-Final saw 25 countries compete for a shot at the Eurovision Grand Final. The Top 10 would qualify with the remaining 15 culled from that year's contest. In 1999, Icelandic singer Selma had brought her homeland its best ever ESC result: 2nd place with "All Out Of Luck". In 2005, Selma was back for another go. The upbeat "If I Had Your Love" was considered a favourite. Unfortunately, the song finished in 16th place.
