Silence Is Golden
British group The Tremeloes released "Silence Is Golden" in 1967. The single enjoyed 3 weeks at the top of the UK chart. It also reached #1 in New Zealand, Norway and Ireland. On the US Top 100, the disc peaked at #11.
The original version was recorded by The Four Seasons. The American band used the song as a B-side for their 1964 US #1 hit "Rag Doll". "Silence Is Golden" was written by group member Bob Gaudio and The 4 Seasons' producer Bob Crewe.
