I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On
It Didn't Mean to Turn You On by Robert Palmer.jpg
Ribert Palmer was enjoying a string of hit singles around the world when he released "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" in 1986. The disc was issued in between his massive hits "Addicted To Love" and "Simply Irresistible".
"I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" peaked at #2 in America and made the Top 10 in Britain. The track was written by the production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Palmer's version was produced by Bernard Edwards (ex-Chic). The single was lifted off his 'Riptide' album.
Two years earlier, Cherelle released the original version. Jam & Lewis produced the track. It only made it to #79 on the US Hot 100, but went Top 10 on the Soul and Dance charts.
