HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED
BOB DYLAN
1965

On 'Highway 61 Revisited', Bob Dylan reinvented himself and the sound of his music. This was his first fully fledged rock album. From here on, a folk singer could be a rock musician without losing any of his power as spokesperson for his generation.
Dylan dared to changed the rules and defy the norms of folk and rock music. He survived the makeover because the material on the album was still of optimal quality. Every one of its fine tracks are from the singer/ songwriter's pen.
Album opener "Like A Rolling Stone" is classic Dylan; musically adventurous and very accessible. Among the other standouts are: "Queen Jane Approximately", "Ballad Of A Thin Man", "Tombstone Blues" and the title track. The remaining tracks are great examples of Dylan at his peak.
