I KNOW HIM SO WELL
Elaine Paige & Barbara Dickson
While Agnetha and Frida concentrated on re-launching their solo careers in the wake of the end of ABBA as a group, Benny and Bjorn diverted their attention to a musical project. Using song ideas initially intended for what was to be ABBA's follow-up to 1981's 'The Visitors' album, the 2 songwriters began collaborating with Tim Rice on "Chess". "I Know Him So Well" was recorded by cast members Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson, both accomplished performers in London's West End.
Released in late 1984, the duet topped the UK chart for 4 weeks in the following year. It has since been covered by Whitney Houston and her mother Cissy Houston as well as by Barbra Streisand.
