THE HISTORY & STATISTICS
As more countries expressed interest
in participating at Eurovision, the
number grew too large to fit into just one show. A semi-final was introduced in
the 1990s. In 2008, a second Semi-Final was required. This process is still
used to this day where 10 songs qualify from each semi to compete in the Grand
Final.
Since the introduction of the Semi-Finals,
only Andorra has competed in vain. It has never made it to an Grand Final. The principality’s
best result thus far is finishing in 12th place during a Semi-Final
in 2007. Andorra last participated in 2009.
