THE 10 WORST ESC WINNING SONGS. This post: #4.
Continues: tomorrow.
Since it began back in 1956, there have been 64 winning entries in the Eurovision Song Contest. Some have remained timeless and popular classics, while others, in hindsight, may defy logic. Caffè Lattè lists ten entries that belong in the latter category…

WINNING SONGS

UKRAINE 2016
There’s no doubting the passion and message behind this ESC winner, but the theme is too heavy for this forum. The fact that “1944” was in breach of 2 Eurovision rules also places the Contest’s consistency in question. Political songs are prohibited. “1944” deals with Stalin’s deportation of the Crimean Tartars. The song had also been performed before the permitted time frame for the 2016 Contest. Other entries in similar circumstances have not been allowed.
