Daniel Boone was born Peter Charles Green in Birmingham, England. He adopted the stage name in 1971. The following year, Boone scored a worldwide hit with the single "Beautiful Sunday" which also made the Top 10 in Canada, Australia, New Zealand,  parts of Europe, Mexico and South Africa. Boone co-wrote the song.
