1 WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

Louis Armstrong

First released in 1967, the single was successful across Europe and reached #1 in Britain. Satchmo’s recording was largely forgotten until 1987. The song was used in the comedy film ‘Good Morning Vietnam’ which starred Robin Williams. Re-introduced to the ballad, the public welcomed its re-release in 1988. The disc was a hit again in Europe. Second time around, the song was a hit in new territories including Australia (#1), Canada (#10), New Zealand (#8) and in America (#32). Louis Armstrong died in 1971, long before the song became a worldwide hit.It now is one of his best known recordings.
