#1406 HEAVEN IS 10 ZILLION LIGHT YEARS AWAY Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder penned "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away", a track on his 1974 classic album 'Fulfillingness' First Finale'.

#1407 7-ROOMS OF GLOOM The Four Tops
Motown's (Brian) Holland/ (Lamont) Dozier/ (Eddie) Holland songwriting team wrote classics for the Four Tops, including the melancholic "7-Rooms of Gloom" from 1967.

#1408 THE RUBBERBAND MAN The Spinners
The Spinners enjoyed greater success after leaving Motown. On Atlantic, they reached #1 R&B in 1976 with the disco smash "The Rubberband Man", penned by Linda Creed and Thom Bell.

#1409 A DAY IN THE LIFE The Beatles
The Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' album in 1967 was a watershed moment in music. The track "A Day in the Life", consisting of 2 separate portions of songs by both John Lennon and Paul McCartney, remains a stunning example of their songcraft.

#1410 WILL YOU LOVE ME TOMORROW The Shirelles
In 1961, the landmark girl group era hit, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles, reached #1. The song was written by married couple Gerry Goffin and Carole King.

The list is a ranking made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. This expanded section now includes songs from the last few years. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
5 new songs are added every day from #1201-1500
