🔘 At his Sun Studios, Phillips played an integral role in the evolution of rock and roll. Many of the new music’s biggest influences came through its doors, including: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, B.B. King and Jerry Lee Lewis. Phillips also co-produced what is regarded as the first “rock ‘n’ roll track: “Rocket 88” which featured Ike Turner.
