As if a pandemic wasn’t enough to plan around, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine looms large as Eurovision time approaches. At present, the Contest is scheduled to begin with Semi-Final 1 on May 10.
How many countries?
No new countries are joining the ESC family, but 2022 sees the return of Montenegro and Armenia, increasing the number of participating nations to 40. Russia has been excluded as a result of its invasion of Ukraine.
