1 GEORGE MARTIN

George Martin, Beatles Producer, Has Died | PitchforkUnder The Volcano: The New Documentary On Sir George Martin

The Beatles were driven by a curiosity in their approach to recording music. Integral to the process of translating the members’ ideas into a reality was producer Martin. He was involved on all of The Fab Four’s albums. The group’s revolutionary ideas were realized thanks to Martin’s wide experience in the studio. For this reason, he was regarded as “The Fifth Beatle”. He steered The Beatles from amateurs to the greatest rock band ever. His contribution to the music of The Beatles radically transformed the possibilities of rock music and studio recordings. Martin also produced hits for other acts that formed part of the British Invasion, including Cilla Black, Gerry & The Pacemakers and Billy J. Kramer with The Dakotas. In the post-Beatles era, Martin helmed hits by Elton John, America, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Shirley Bassey, Little River Band and Paul McCartney / Wings.
