#696 FLY ME TO THE MOON Agnetha Faltskog
This American standard was initially entitled "In Other Words" when songwriter Bart Howard composed it in 1954. It was suggested that the title be changed to "Take me to the Moon", but Howard settled on "Fly me to the Moon". By 1960, the song -with its new title- had gained popularity, via recordings by legendary performers that included Peggy Lee, Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra.
Agnetha Faltskog paid tribute to the beautiful classic on her 'My Colouring Book' album in 2004. This version featured a more modern, yet just as gentle arrangement; proving the song's timeless quality. That same year, Howard died after suffering a stroke.
