#721 BAD MOON RISING Creedence Clearwater Revival
John Fogerty penned "Bad Moon Rising" for his group Creedence Clearwater Revival and its lyrics have been analyzed numerous times ever since. The song was included on CCR's 'Green River' LP, which hit record stores in 1969. Its verses are filled with a gloomy foreboding, matched by Fogerty's powerful vocals; all recorded insightfully by him in his role as producer. The inspiration for the song came from the 1940s film 'The Devil and Daniel Webster'. It's worth noting that Fogerty wrote "Bad Moon Rising" on the same day that Richard Nixon was elected President.
