PARALLEL LINES: BLONDIE
Blondie - Parallel Lines.jpg
 [1978]
Blondie was stagnating as new wave was petering out when work began on 'Parallel Lines'. Enter hit producer Mike Chapman. He recognized potential within the group and helped Blondie realize its talent. It helped that the band had some great new songs. Coupled with Chapman's ear and expertise, Blondie delivered its most consistent album. New wave attitude was fused with pop, rock and even disco on the LP's mega-hit "Heart Of Glass". The latter began as a reggae track, but Chapman's vision transformed it into a 1970s classic. Highlight tracks: One Way Or Another; Picture This & Hanging On The Telephone.
