THE 41 SONGS

(ranked in order of preference)

The Eurovision Song Contest begins in Tel Aviv on May 14. Two semi-finals will see 35 songs reduced to 20 and join last year’s winning nation Israel alongside the pre-qualified ‘Big 5’ countries (France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom & Germany) in the Grand Final 4 days later.

The songs are ranked in order of song quality, starting with the weakest of the 41 entries. Preferences may change once they are performed live during the Semi-Finals.

22 FINLAND

DARUDE featuring Sebastian Rejman

Performed in English, this song will be competing in Semi-Final 1. This is one of the disappointing selections involved with the current crop: Finland has enlisted Darude, one of its most successful musical exports, for this year’s Eurovision. “Look Away”  is simply not impressive enough. It is likely to struggle to qualify for the Grand Final.
