CALM AFTER THE STORM
THE COMMON LINNETS
NETHERLANDS / 2014
The country-flavoured "Calm After The Storm" is one of the best examples of a contemporary and well-crafted entry that performs exceptionally well at Eurovision. It ultimately proved unable to surpass "Rise Like A Phoenix", the winning song from Austria's Conchita Wurst.

KNOCK, KNOCK WHO'S THERE?
MARY HOPKIN
UNITED KINGDOM / 1970
The UK should have easily achieved another Eurovision victory in 1970 with the infectious "Knock, Knock Who's There?". It was denied a win by young Dana who gave Ireland its first win with her sweet song "All Kinds Of Everything".
