WILDEST DREAMS

(TAYLOR’S VERSION)

The original version of “Wildest Dreams” was included on the 2014 Taylor Swift album ‘1989’. The re-recording of the song was featured on the singer-songwriter’s most recent album release ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’.

Back in 2015, when the original “Wildest Dreams” was released, the single reached the Top 5 in the United States, Canada, Australia, some European countries and South Africa. The song also peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart.

Issued in late 2023, the Taylor’s Version of the album was a worldwide success, topping charts in many territories. All 4 re-recordings of Swift’s past albums reached #1 in not just her homeland, but also in Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Since the album’s release, even more evidence of the intensity of Swift’s popularity is undeniable. The singer became the first recording act to win 4 Album of the Year Grammy Awards in early 2024. Her world tour continues, with the singer just having played to her biggest audience in Melbourne, Australia in February.

The strong response to the announcement of a new Swift album revealed that there is no sign of her cult-like hold over her fanbase abating. ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is scheduled for release on April 19 of this year.

Today, there is no bigger music act in the world than Taylor Swift. She has a mighty following. The singer alone can encourage American youth to enrol to vote. There is talk that Swift may influence the upcoming US election, fortunately in the Democrats’ favour. Her congregations have a major impact on economies around the world.  If there will be fatigue or a backlash in the future, present-day Swifties are a long way off from that point.
