In 2023, Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest for a record-equalling seventh time (shared with Ireland). It is hard to argue that any other ESC participant country takes the annual event as seriously as the Swedes do. Their national selections – Melodifestivalen- is held over many weeks and usually features several strong contenders. The final rivals the actual Eurovision Final in its professionalism and entertainment.

2006
Carola has represented Sweden at Eurovision on three occasions. Each time, her song ended up in the Top 5 during the Grand Final. “Invincible”, her most recent entry, claimed fifth place in 2006.
