In 2023, Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest for a record-equalling seventh time (shared with Ireland). It is hard to argue that any other ESC participant country takes the annual event as seriously as the Swedes do. Their national selections – Melodifestivalen- is held over many weeks and usually features several strong contenders. The final rivals the actual Eurovision Final in its professionalism and entertainment.

Sweden finished in fifth position with its 2003 entry. “Give Me Your Love” was performed by the duo Fame. The song was instantly catchy and this no doubt buoyed its chances at Eurovision.
