ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME 2024 NOMINATED INDUCTEES. Continues Monday.

Caffè Lattè examines this year’s 15 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame contenders:

THE CLASS OF

2024

We argue the case for each of 2024’s 15 nominees for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame…

- LENNY KRAVITZ -

Drawing from Sly & The Family Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Prince and many other noteworthy influences, Lenny Kravitz has created his own sound. In a career that has now spanned decades, his musical legacy is rich and definitely worthy of induction.

WHO IS STILL NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME?*

*Excludes acts nominated for induction in 2024.

Despite being eligible, the following acts are 60 glaring omissions that are yet to be inducted:

BRYAN ADAMS

Canadian rocker Bryan Adams has demonstrated versatility in his string of hit singles. “Cuts Like A Knife”, “Heaven”, “Summer of ‘69”, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”, “Please Forgive Me”, and “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?” show the many dimensions to his success as a soloist.

IRON MAIDEN

Iron Maiden continued the British tradition in heavy metal music. Formed in 1975, the English group truly exploded with 1982’s ‘The Number Of The Beast’ album. This is still one of the most pivotal metal album releases.

GLORIA GAYNOR

The Hall Of Fame has embraced dance acts such as Madonna and Donna Summer. One glaring omission is the first Queen of Disco: Gloria Gaynor. She was a pioneer for that genre, releasing the seminal smash “Never Can Say Goodbye”. “Reach Out, I’ll Be there” followed before Gaynor unleashed her perennial anthem “I Will Survive”.

THE MONKEES

, The Monkees began as a manufactured pop act. Other musicians were brought in to play on the songs credited to the band. Nevertheless, this proved to be a launching pad for songwriters Neil Diamond, Carole King and Gerry Goffin as well as lauded session musicians Glen Campbell, Hal Blaine and, eventually, The Monkees themselves. So popular was the group that its first 6 US singles reached the Top 3 (“Last Train To Clarksville”, “I’m A Believer” and “Daydream Believer made #1).
