Trivia:

The duo Ashford & Simpson first met in 1964 and penned "Let's Go Get Stoned" for Ray Charles. Eventually, the pair made it to Motown where they created hits for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. These unforgettable duets include "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "You're All I Need To Get By" and "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing". Nikolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson married. They continued writing/ producing hits such as "The Boss" (Diana Ross) and "I'm Every Woman" (Chaka Khan; Whitney Houston). "Solid" was one of the hits they recorded themselves.
