CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#404 COLD WIND ACROSS MY HEART Night
Night featured various session players and enjoyed a hit single in 1979 entitled "Hot Summer Night". That single was a remake of a Walter Egan song and was included on the group's eponymous album. Another of its tracks was "Cold Wind Across My Heart". Tom Snow penned the ballad. Toto's Steve Porcaro contributed synthesizer. Recorded in Los Angeles, Richard Perry took care of production duties.
Night's success was short-lived. Sophomore album 'Long Distance' flopped. Pivotal member Chris Thompson departed and re-joined Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Night was over by 1982. Stevie Lange went on to play with other groups including Johnny Hates Jazz and Swing Out Sister. Nicky Hopkins played keyboards on classic albums by the likes of The Rolling Stones and The Who. He died in 1994. Guitarist Robbie McIntosh subsequently joined The Pretenders and Paul McCartney's backing band. Thompson was also involved on Jeff Wayne's musical adaptation of 'The War of the Worlds'.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
