CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#343 BIG BOSS GROOVE
"Big Boss Groove" was released as 1 of the double A-sides of a single which also included "You're The Best Thing" in 1984. Lead singer Paul Weller co-wrote the funky song with bandmate Mick Talbot. Production was handled by Weller with Peter Wilson.
The brass section adds energy to the upbeat song. As is typical of The Style Council's catalogue, the cheery music belies the purpose of it message. Its lyrics are a call to arms. The single was a #5 hit in Britain. It only reached #76 in the USA. The disc did, however, peak in the Top 20 on the charts in Australia and New Zealand.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
