CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#367 OH TO BE IN LOVE Kate Bush
Few artists have made as impressive a debut as Kate Bush did with the fruits of her prolific writing prior to reaching adulthood. She had a wealth of skilfully penned songs to choose from when putting together 'The Kick Inside'. Released in 1978, it was packed with strong tracks- "Oh To Be In Love" is a fine example of the depth of the young performer's talent.
Bush penned the song and the track was produced by Andrew Powell. It was recorded at London's AIR Studios in mid-1977. The ballad's lyrics reveal her maturity and originality as a songwriter. Its theme finds a woman wanting a lasting love. Her vocals are exciting, despite the decades that have since passed. This standard of songwriting from such a young woman was rare in 1978 and Bush has influenced countless other female musicians since.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
