CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

Mid-week bonus - 1 new song will be added every 8 hours throughout today
#361 THE WAY OF LOVE Cher
The 1971 Cher album 'Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves' opens with the stirring ballad "The Way Of Love". The song, which deals with the harsh realities of love and relationships, was penned by Jack Dieval and Al Stillman. The latter's songs have been recorded by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller, Perry Como and Johnny Mathis. Snuff Garrett produced the recording, capturing 1 of the singer's best vocals.
Released in 1972 as the album's 2nd single, "The Way of Love" peaked at #7 in America and reached the Top 10 in Canada and Ireland. The 'Foxy Lady' LP followed months later. Its singles failed to build on the soloist's momentum. "Am I Blue?" from 'Bittersweet White Light' fared worse. Cher did return in 1973 with 2 consecutive chart-topping songs: "Half-Breed" and "Dark Lady".

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
