"(They Long To Be) Close To You" was first recorded by Dionne Warwick and became a worldwide hit in the 1970s for The Carpenters. Rumer's vocal quality has often been compared to that duo's lead singer Karen Carpenter.
Swedish pop star Wiktoria's 2nd English language single "Yesterday R.I.P." is another country-powered pop song in the Shania Twain tradition.
