CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#587 S-S-S-SINGLE BED Fox
70s group Fox had a short lived shelf life, but did manage to score a #1 single on the Australian chart in 1976 with "S-S-S-Single Bed". Formed in Britain, the band's lead singer Noosha Fox was born in Australia. Group member Kenny Young wrote the song. He had been writing hits for various recording acts ranging from The Drifters, The Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, Nancy Sinatra, Kenny Rogers and Status Quo.
"... Single Bed" peaked at #4 on the UK chart and made the Dutch Top 10. The single was included on the group's 'Blue Hotel' LP, issued in 1977. That year, Fox broke up. Noosha recorded a solo LP, while Young formed a new band- Yellow Dog. They only achieved 1 hit: "Just One More Night" in 1978.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
To mark the occasion of reaching the halfway mark for this special countdown, a new song will be added on the hour all day today (in place of this week's Mid Week Bonus).
