CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS {EXPANDED EDITION}

#1266 BACKSTABBERS The O'Jays
Another classic track from the R&B label Philadelphia International, "Backstabbers" is a cautionary tale from the veteran soul act The O'Jays. Written by Leon Huff with John Whitehead and Gene McFadden, the single was issued in 1972.

#1267 STAND BY ME Ben E. King
Ben E. King was a fully fledged soloist following the success of his R&B staple "Stand By Me". This signature tune was written by him with the songwriting/ production team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Initially unleashed in 1961, it was re-released to coincide with the movie of the same name in 1986, when the single topped the UK chart.

#1268 UN JOUR, UN ENFANT Frida Boccara
The 1969 Eurovision Song Contest ended with a 4-way tie. The present rules make ties impossible and, had they been in place then, this stirring French ballad would have triumphed. Frida Boccara's song "Un Jour, Un Enfant" ("A Day, A Child") was written by Emil Stern and Eddy Marnay.

#1269 DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART Elton John & Kiki Dee
Elton John asked his collaborator Bernie Taupin to write a duet for him. "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" features Kiki Dee, an artist on the pianist's Rocket Records label. John cut his vocals in Toronto, Canada and Dee sang her part in London. The song reached #1 in both the US, UK, Australia, Canada and NewZealand in 1976.

#1270 IT HURTS Lena Philipsson
Sweden's Eurovision entry in 2004 was an upbeat song entitled "It Hurts" from female soloist Lena Philipsson. The song, written by Thomas Eriksson, finished in 5th place in Istanbul.

The list is a ranking made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice.This expanded section now includes songs from the last few years. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
5 new songs are added every day from #1201-1500 as well as continuing the ascent through 1 of the remaining songs to #1 daily.
