With man encroaching on more idyllic locations in the name of progress, the Eagles track "The Last Resort" questions why we have a penchant to destroy such places. 
The song appeared on the band's 1976 album 'Hotel California'. It was its closing track, running at 7.25 minutes. 
The verses refer to places of natural beauty such as Malibu in California and Lahaina in Hawaii where white settlers arrived and, in the name of civilization, wrecked the very things that made these locations unique.
