CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

Mid-week bonus: #646- 644
#646 NEVER, NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP Barry White
Barry White created some of soul music's sexiest love songs, that not only served as a romantic background for the boudoir but also laid the groundwork for the disco boom that was looming. One of his best releases was the single "Never, Never Gonna Give You Up". Hitting record shelves in late 1973, the single peaked at #7 Pop & 2 R&B in the US. It also reached the top 10 in Australia and parts of Europe. The track was included on his album 'Stone Gon''. His recordings were ingenious: lavished with orchestrations that have never been emulated as skilfully. Sadly, the world lost White in 2003, a victim of kidney failure at the age of 58.

#645 CHINA GIRL David Bowie
Co-written by David Bowie and Iggy Pop, "China Girl" became a global hit for the former in 1983. The song was lifted from his best-selling studio album 'Let's Dance'. Bowie co-produced the tracxk with Nile Rodgers, who also performs guitar (along with Stevie Rsay Vaughn on lead guitar). As well as peaking at #2 in the UK, the Bowie hit reached the Top 10 in America, Ireland and the Netherlands.

#644 DON'T DREAM IT'S OVER Crowded House
One of Neil Finn's most beautiful compositions is the 1987 hit "Don't Dream It's Over". This was recorded for Crowded House's self-titled debut album, released shortly after the end of Finn's forner group, Split Enz.
The new trio consisted at that time of Finn, drummer Paul Hester and bass guitarist Neil Seymour. MItchell Froom produced the album. "Don't Dream..." was the first major international hit for the group, peaking at #1 in Canada and New Zealand, 2 in America, 7 in the Netherlands and 8 in Australia. On the British charts, the ballad stopped climbing at #27.
