"Coming Out Of The Dark" was inspired by the tour bus accident that almost killed Gloria Estefan. The long road to recovery after fracturing her spine resonated with her fans and the public at large. She co-wrote the hit with husband Emilio Estefan Jr. and singer Jon Secada. The latter contributed background vocals on the track, as did R&B legend Betty Wright.
