SHEERAN
English singer/ songwriter Ed Sheeran was born in 1991. He began performing in his youth, releasing an EP and 2 albums before entering adulthood.
A performance on YouTube attracted thousands of hits. Jamie Foxx invited Sheeran on his radio program. His 1st album on a major label was issued in 2011. In Britain and Australia, '+' reached #1. The album peaked at #5 in America. Its lead single "The A Team" made the UK Top 3.
More Top 10 success followed with "You Need Me, I Don't Need You", "Lego House" and "Drunk". In 2013, his "I See Fire" was played at the end of 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'.
Sheeran worked with Rick Rubin, Rudimental and Pharrell Williams on his 2014 album 'x'. This release topped the US, British, Canadian and Australian charts. It contained the hits "Don't", "Bloodstream", "Sing" and "Thinking Out Loud". The latter 2 reached #1 in Britain and Australia.
He was showered with trophies, including Brit, Grammy and MTV Europe Music Awards. In 2017, "Castle On The Hill" was an international smash, followed by the worldwide #1 hit "Shape Of You". That song spent a record-breaking 17 weeks at #1 in Australia. Parent album '÷' reached #1 in America, Britain, Europe, Canada and Australia. Also this year, Sheeran had a brief appearance in the hit TV series 'Game Of Thrones'.
