ABBATHE 40 MOST IMPORTANT SONGS

39 WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE Writers: Benny Andersson / Bjorn Ulvaeus

"When All Is Said And Done" is appropriately from ABBA's final studio album 'The Visitors". It serves as a counterpoint to the cheesy, simpler songs on albums such as 'Ring Ring'. Recorded in March 1981, Bjorn's lyrics reflect what was going on internally: Benny & Frida's marriage was over. ABBA had always revolved around 2 couples very much in love. By the time of this song, both marriages had ended. Like their relationships, the group was heading towards its demise too. Frida delivers an impassioned vocal, as if relating to every word.
