CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS

#204 DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU GET ENOUGH Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson jettisoned himself into a brand new stratosphere with the release of "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" in 1979. The single sounded like no other. Its music video raised the bar. Suddenly, he was the coolest African-American on the planet.
Jackson had just recruited Quincy Jones to produce 'Off The Wall'. The young soloist had penned "Don't Stop..." at his home in Encino, California; inspired by his own thoughts on the power of love. The recording session featured talented session musicians, along with Michael and his brother Randy on percussion. Louis Johnson (of The Brothers Johnson) played bass; Greg Phillinganes was on electric piano; and Jerry Hey performed on trumpet and flugelhorn.
The song made Jackson a worldwide superstar, reaching #1 in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It made the Top 3 in Spain, the Netherlands, UK and Canada. The single also climbed to the top on the American R&B Chart. Jackson would continue to dominate the charts throughout the 1980s.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
A new song is added each day.
