CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS

#208 STEPPIN' OUT Joe Jackson
Joe Jackson released his 'Night And Day' album in 1982. The LP was recorded in New York City and that location's influence was especially evident on the track "Steppin' Out". Jackson penned the song in the city. He co-produced the recording with David Kershenbaum.
The song deals with the need to enjoy the nightlife. New York's lights and streets beckon from the track's outset. The piano and drums prove irresistible once fused with its electronic beat. Jackson's vocals entice the listener into the evening's stream of patrons.
Released as the 3rd single off 'Night And Day", "Steppin' Out" proved to be the album's biggest hit. The disc peaked at #6 in both the UK and USA. It also made the Top 5 in Canada. In Australia and New Zealand, the single reached #30 and 21 respectively.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
A new song is added each day.
