"7 Seconds" was a powerful duet recorded by Senegalese performer Youssou N'Dour and Swedish -born trip-hop pioneer Neneh Cherry. The latter sings in English. N'Dour sings in French and Wolof (a language widely spoken in Senegal). During recording, the 2 resisted pressure to perform the entire song in English.
