Suzi Quatro will always be remembered as one of the pioneering "rock chicks". She blazed a trail in the early 70s that made the likes of Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani and Pink possible. "Rock Hard" remains her final major hit single, despite still recording and touring to this day. Australia has always been a constant on her touring schedule, reflecting her popularity and success in her peak period where she scored 3 #1 singles between 1973-4. The rock song was another gem from the hit songwriting team of Mike Chapman & Nicky Chinn. As the female rocker herself described the song to me in an interview, the track is: "very Suzi". While it flopped elsewhere, the single peaked at #9 in 1980 on the Australian charts. It's no frills Quatro with an energy that is perfectly summed up by its title.
