#880 DOES ANYBODY REALLY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS? Chicago
When issued as a single in late 1970, "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" charged up the US pop charts to peak at #7; it was the follow-up to "25 or 6 to 4" and Chicago's 3rd consecutive Top 10 hit. Composed by group member Robert Lamm, the song first appeared on the band's 1969 debut LP, 'Chicago Transit Authority' (which had previously been the group's name at its inception). The band's sound was influenced by The Beatles' "Got To Get You Into My Life" off their 'Revolver' LP. Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears were among the biggest groups to emerge with the then in vogue jazz-pop genre.
