CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#915-911 20 -a -day special fast track...

#915 I GO TO SLEEP Sia
Sia was born in Adelaide, Australia in 1975, a decade after "I Go To Sleep" was written by The Kinks' lead singer Ray Davies. It was penned around the time of their 'Kinda Kinks' LP in 1965. The tender ballad was best revealed to the world via a cover version by The Pretenders. Lead singer Chrissie Hynde was romantically involved with Davies.
Sia Furler recorded her version of "I Go To Sleep" in 2008. Her vocals don't stray too far from Hynde's interpretation, but the music on this recording gives it a more dreamy feel. The single was lifted off her 'Some People Have Real Problems' album.

#914 SHERRY The 4 Seasons
Group member Bob Gaudio penned "Sherry" for his group and it was with this 1962 single that the 4 Seasons cracked the Top 40 in America. Built around Frankie Valli's falsetto, it went on to become their first #1, reigning for 5 weeks.

#913 TRUE FAITH New Order
It was inevitable that songs New Order released following "Blue Monday" would always be overshadowed by that landmark dance track. This is a shame, as the group offered up other worthy singles. "True Faith" is one such cut. Credited to band members Bernard Sumner (aka Bernard Albrecht), Peter Hook, Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris, it was first issued as a single in 1987.

#912 DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME Mama Cass Elliott / The Mamas & The Papas
Timing is the only reason why "Dream a Little Dream of Me" is credited to a solo Mama Cass as opposed to her group The Mamas & The Papas. The latter was breaking up at the time they recorded their version of a song that had been written in 1931by Wilbur Schwandt, Gus Khan and Fabian Andre. The remake first appeared as an album track from 'The Papas & the Mamas', unleashed in 1968. This was to be the group's swan song. Intended initially as a group single, Dunhill Records decided to credit the disc as a Cass solo release in order to launch the lead vocalist's new career phase. The label read: Mama Cass with The Mamas & The Papas. It charted well, particularly in
Australia, where the single reached #1.

#911 BIG LOVE Fleetwood Mac
Few bands are blessed with high quality songwriters the way Fleetwood Mac is. Together, the members have contributed a rich catalogue brimming with radio staples. "Big Love" is a Lindsey Buckingham offering that served as the lead single from the 1987 album 'Tango in the Night'. On this LP, he served as co=producer with Richard Dashut.
