#894 TRAIN IN VAIN The Clash
The Clash were arguably the most influential of the punk / new wave bands. They not only recorded anthemic songs, but their lyrics were often politically charged. "Train in Vain" was penned by group members Joe Strummer and Mick Jones. Guy Stevens handled production duties. The song was featured on The Clash's landmark 1979 LP 'London Calling' (though as a hidden track on the record sleeve). The group split in 1986. Strummer died in 2002.
