#895 TWIST MY ARM Pointer Sisters
The Pointer Sisters re-invented themselves into a staple on dance charts with a string of hit singles in the mid-80s. 'Breakout' firmly established the trio with the dance community. Follow-up LP 'Contact', released in 1985, contained more floorfillers. One such song was "Twist my Arm", written by Andy Goldmark and Bruce Roberts. Unfortunately, dance / pop trends shifted again in 1987 and the girl group was out of favour with record buyers. This was the final strong dance release from the trio. June Pointer died of lung cancer in 2006. The trio continues touring today.
