The Little River Band formed in Melbourne in 1975 and soon became one of Australia's most successful musical exports. LRB's sound was perfectly tailored for American radio and a string of hit singles cracked the Australian and US charts. These songs included: "Help Is On Its Way" (#1 in Australia), "Reminiscing", "Cool Change", "The Night Owls" and "The Other Guy".
Amidst all the success, internal conflicts led to lead singer Glenn Shorrock being replaced by Australian soloist John Farnham. He remained for 3 albums before re-launching his own solo career. Shorrock returned to LRB from time to time.

Various line-up changes and reformations have ensued. A band featuring later recruits to the group is now based in America. None of the original members are involved; a sad end to a group that opened the door for other Aussie acts that followed including Air Supply, INXS, Men At Work and Crowded House.
