Buffalo Springfield delivered one of the enduring protest songs of the 1960s on its self-titled album. "For What It's Worth" was issued as a single in 1967. 
Group member Stephen Stills wrote the classic track. He drew inspiration from a protest against a planned curfew in Los Angeles. Tensions mounted between youths and the police.
