Canadian group Crash Test Dummies reached #1 in Australia and Scandinavia as well as making the Top 10 in America and Britain with "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm".

LOVIN' YOU
Minnie Riperton (1975)
Stevie Wonder produced "Lovin' You" a sweet ballad performed by American vocalist Minnie Riperton. It topped the US chart and reached the Top 5 in Britain, Canada and Australia. Sadly, Riperton died of cancer 4 years later.

Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians (1988) 
Texan singer / songwriter Edie Brickell reached #7 in the U.S.A. with "What I Am". She married Paul Simon in 1992.

Little Peggy March (1963)
Peggy March became the youngest female to reach #1 in America with "I Will Follow Him". She was born Margaret Battavio.

Van McCoy (1975) 
American songwriter / producer Van McCoy provided disco with one of its earliest hits. "The Hustle" made #1 in America and Canada. It peaked at #3 in the UK. McCoy died of a heart attack 4 years later.

Tag Team (1993)
American hip hop duo Tag Team met at high school. "Whoomp! (There It Is)" peaked at #2 for 7 weeks in the US.

Paul Lekakis (1987) 
American singer Paul Lekakis was also a dancer and model. "Boom Boom (Let's Go Back To My Room)" topped the Australian, Japanese and South African charts.

4 Non Blondes (1993)
American group with Linda Perry on lead vocals. The single "What's Up" was a #1 hit in Europe. It peaked at #2 in Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Perry has since written hits for the likes of Pink, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera.

Vanessa Carlton (2002) 
American singer/ songwriter/ pianist made #1 in Australia and reached the Top 10 in America, Britain, Europe and New Zealand with debut single "A Thousand Miles".

I'VE NEVER BEEN TO ME
Charlene (1977)
Originally released in 1977, "I've Never Been To Me" didn't make it past #97 on the US chart. Re-issued by Motown Records in 1982, Charlene's song topped the British, Canadian and Australian charts. In America, the single peaked at #3.
